A Stern Warning

At Murari, we accept all Vaisnavas as worshippable, and indeed, we have given our hearts to them. Any blasphemy to their Lotus Feet will NOT be tolerated.

How to judge if a devotee is a bona-fide master? Read their works, and listen to their Hari-Katha. The Truth WILL stand out from the illusion very easily. One may give in to misguided propaganda, thinking there is a political split in the core sampradaya, but this is not so. You will see if you read the books of our previous acaryas and refuse to take the association of those who blaspheme the devotees. Blasphemy will completely destroy your bhakti.

If you have a problem with any of the above pure devotees, please contact us and explain your grievances before making a trip to Murari. It should go without saying that vaisnava-aparadha is exceedingly painful to be in contact with in any way. It will simply not be tolerated at Murari.

If you are reading this, and you have no idea what this is about, don’t worry. This page has been necessitated by repeated painful experiences with offensive persons who have come to the asrama. Just come with an open mind and a desire to learn.

trinad api sunichena

kirtaniyah sada harih

One should chant the holy name of the Lord in a humble state of mind, thinking oneself lower than the straw in the street; one should be more tolerant than a tree, devoid of all sense of false prestige and should be ready to offer all respect to others. In such a state of mind one can chant the holy name of the Lord constantly.

Sri Sisastakam, text 3 – Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu

Srila Narottama dasa Thakura

O Lord, you are an ocean of compassion and the friend of the destitute. Please mercifully give me your glance. I have fallen into the ocean of illusory mundane life where I am surrounded by whale-eating timingila fish in the form of lust. They are trying to swallow me, therefore O My Lord, please protect me.

Since my birth, I have offended you again and again and failed to worship you sincerely, without duplicity. Nevertheless, You are my only shelter. O Lord of my life, please do not neglect me, there is no one more fallen than I.

O Syama! You are famous as the savior of the fallen. If you forsake me, I have nobody else. Even if I am an offender, You remain as my only hope, in the same way as the husband for a chaste wife is her only hope.

O Lord of my life, please listen to my prayer. You are the Supreme Lord. Please do not forsake me. Even if I commit offenses, still You are my Master. Please give me some service and engage me as your servant.

Lust is piercing my heart. I do not know my own good. I cannot vanquish the bad desires in my mind. O Master, please keep me close to You. You are a wish-fulfilling desire-tree. Please show your compassion to everyone by accepting me.

O Lord, throughout the three worlds, You will not find anybody as fallen as I. Deliver me and become known as “Narottama-pavana” (the deliverer of Narottama). O Syama, let your name, Patita-pavana, deliverer of the fallen, be known throughout the universe. O Giridhara, lifter of Govardhana Hill, please accept me as your servant.

O my Lord, Narottama dasa is very unhappy. Please make me happy by engaging me in your bhajana and sankirtana. O Lord, my greatest fear is that I will not be able to overcome the obstacles in the path of bhakti. Therefore, I pray to You constantly.

Narottama dasa Thakura Mahasaya
